On this section of the road, shortly after the start of the raid, law enforcement officers caught one drinking driver, who was found to be 0.8 per thousand by breath. The many bottles of water drunk on the spot did not help either.
“Not everyone woke up in the morning, but in the afternoon we drew up one protocol. We are waiting for the second blow in Baloži for driving under the influence, we are raiding in Plakanciems. In the second half of the day, people still drink alcohol, sit and drive, ”says Andris Stepanchenko, a spokesman for the State Police.
The conclusions are harsh – hardened drinking drivers usually sit under the influence of the wheel, who do not change their dangerous habits.
“I have been working on the road for more than 20 years – those who drive at 1.5 per mille are not the first time. They start at 0.5, 0.3 permissible, not in sight. Such problems endanger both themselves and those around them who celebrate – children, summer vacation. Unfortunately, there are such leaders, ”concludes the State Police officer.
However, the vast majority of drivers behind the wheel are sitting clear. Some admit that beer was enjoyed during the holidays, but not too much.-
“Of course it was a holiday, but now everything is within reason! Nothing more. (TV3: Among fellow friends, everyone also notices, are there any who tend to drive under the influence?) Thank God, there are no such friends! Really, everyone respects, ”says driver Vadim.
Here, suddenly, the police jump into the car and turn quickly with the lights on. Colleagues had reported that before the test phase, a car had suddenly changed direction. While checking the car, the woman behind the wheel explained that she was looking for a summer house and mixed up the addresses, so she turned around.
“The man next to him was intoxicated noticeably, he was not blowing, but the woman was fine, at the wheel with a driver’s license,” says the police officer.
Another driver’s trip ended today because his driver’s license has been suspended for non-payment of alimony.
Road raids will continue to be actively carried out by the police, so they urge the celebrants not to take risks or even try to get behind the wheel under the influence, as the consequences will be very unpleasant: huge fines, disenfranchisement.
