Polda Metro Jaya Names Fortuner Driver with Police Service Plate 3488-07 as Suspect

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Polda Metro Jaya has named the driver of a Toyota Fortuner VRZ vehicle with a police service plate 3488-07 who went against the flow of the road and fled after hitting another car in the South Jakarta area as a suspect.

This was conveyed by the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, when giving a press statement on Sunday (22/8/2021).

“We have named our brother as a suspect with evidence from witness statements, CCTV footage including the suitability of witness and suspect statements as well as vehicle damage,” he said.

He explained that the incident occurred on Friday (20/8/2021) at around 02.30 in the morning.

There are three crime scenes (TKP) when the suspect was driving against the flow of the road, namely two around Army Student Street, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta and one around Jalan Pos Pengumben, West Jakarta.

“Brother AS went against the current from Jalan Purification, Pejompongan, to under Slipi and then grazed or collided with a white Mercedes and Peugeot that was traveling from the opposite direction,” said Sambodo.

Sambodo said that after hitting the two cars, the suspect fled.

As a result of his actions, the US was charged with four articles, namely Article 310 paragraph 1 and Article 311 paragraph 1 concerning the Traffic Law no. 2 of 2009. Sentenced to a maximum of 1 year or a maximum fine of Rp. 3,000,000.-

“Then article 311 paragraph 2, because his actions resulted in damage to motorized vehicles. Then article 312 related to hit-and-run with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of 3 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 75 million,” explained Sambodo.
