As early as midday on April 29, 2022, a traffic accident between two cyclists occurred in Römerberg-Berghausen, on the cycle path next to the railway line. A 14-year-old from Römerberg wanted to turn left. She overlooked a 15-year-old, also from Römerberg, who was about to overtake her. Both fell. The 15-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital by rescue helicopter.
