1. After an accident: 66-year-old succumbs to his injuries – B 43a / Hanau
(lei) The 66-year-old scooter driver who had an accident on Monday at the Hanauer Kreuz (we reported) died of his injuries in the hospital on Tuesday. This was announced by the Langenselbold police motorway station. The man had left the roadway yesterday at noon in the curve area of the access lane to the federal highway 43a in the direction of Hanau-Hafen for reasons that are still unclear, collided with the guardrail and thrown into the embankment. The Hanau public prosecutor’s office has taken over the further investigations.
2. 36-year-old demolishes bank branch – Langenselbold
(lei) With a total of eleven smashed windows and property damage of over 20,000 euros, the employees of a bank branch in Gelnhäuser Straße and the police officers deployed on Tuesday afternoon were presented with a picture of the devastation. A 36-year-old man is said to be responsible for this, whom the officials temporarily arrested shortly after the apparent outbreak of violence. The man from Langenselbold entered the branch around 3 p.m. to withdraw money from the machine there. According to his own statement, for an unknown reason, he was so annoyed about the take-off process that he quickly damaged almost the entire glazing of the window front by throwing stones at the panes. He is also said to have articulated Nazi slogans. As a result, in addition to the bank employees, other callers called the emergency number and the police immediately went there. Luckily no one was injured in the freak out. The 36-year-old, who now has to answer on suspicion of property damage, using license plates of unconstitutional organizations and hate speech, was then taken to a psychiatric clinic. Other witnesses are asked to call the Hanau II police station on 06181 9010-0.
