On April 7th, 2022, from around 1:00 p.m., officers from the Freiburg police headquarters increasingly had to move out due to storm operations. From this time on, the wind forecast by the German Weather Service increased sharply – there were more gusts of wind and the resulting traffic disruptions.
Around 75 operations related to the current weather situation were recorded at the Freiburg police headquarters by midnight.
In some cases, objects lying on the road could be removed without outside help – but the local fire brigade or road maintenance departments were also involved in the majority of these operations. Among other things, they had to remove trees.
The local focal points of the operations were in Breisach, the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and the city of Freiburg.
The police were not aware of any injuries during this period.
Notable events were:
- Verkehrsunfall zur Mittagszeit in Endingen - eine Windböe hatte
einen Pkw-Anhänger während der Fahrt erfasst. Es kam zur
Kollision mit einem weiteren Fahrzeug. Verletzt wurde niemand.
- Stromausfall in Buchenbach-Falkensteig ab etwa 13:45 Uhr - die
Stromversorgung war gegen 18:30 Uhr wieder vollständig
hergestellt
- In Müllheim fiel gegen 17:00 Uhr ein Baum auf ein Fahrzeug -
verletzt wurde niemand.
- In Breisach fielen gegen 17:00 Uhr Ziegel von einem Haus -
dieses musste aus Sicherheitsgründen abgesperrt werden
- In Freiburg fiel gegen 17:15 Uhr ein Baum auf ein Fahrzeug sowie
dessen Anhänger - verletzt wurde niemand
- In Eichstetten fiel gegen 21:00 Uhr ein Schaf durch den
andauernden Wind immer wieder um und konnte nicht mehr aufstehen
- der zuständige Schäfer richtete es wieder auf.
