A serious traffic accident occurred on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at around 1:30 a.m. A 21-year-old drove on the state road 127 from Eschbach in the direction of Stegen. In a long right-hand bend, the car left the roadway, landed in a stream and then crashed into a concrete bridge.
The driver of the car was fatally injured in the accident. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
The vehicle can only be recovered under difficult conditions — as of 5:00 a.m. the road is still completely closed to traffic. It is not expected that the blockage will be lifted before 06:00 a.m.
The Freiburg traffic police have started investigating the cause of the accident.
