The league hopes for free TV games as the championship continues.
Vienna. A decision about the continuation of the Austrian Bundesliga should be made in the coming days. The ball is now up to politics, Health Minister Rudolf Anschober said that there is a constructive dialogue with the representatives of football. “I hope for a good solution,” Anschober said. The restart could be heralded on May 30 with the cup final between Red Bull Salzburg and Austria Lustenau, and the Bundesliga should then continue on June 6. Ten rounds and the play-off games are still to be completed. The goal is also to begin team training at the end of this week. “I am confident,” said league board member Christian Ebenbauer.
Free TV conference in Germany
Talks are still ongoing with TV rights holders and play TV broadcaster Sky to show league games on free-to-air television. “We try to offer as many fans as possible the opportunity to watch games on free TV,” says Ebenbauer. It is quite possible that there is a solution similar to that in Germany: Sky is showing the conference circuits of the 1st division and the 2nd division on the 26th and 27th matchday live on free TV.
