Warriors overcome Celtics in Finals rematch

Klay Thompson scored 34 points and Splash Brothers teammate Stephen Curry added 32, making six 3-pointers as Golden State beat the Boston Celtics 123-107 on Saturday in a rematch of the NBA Finals won by the Warriors in six duels.

Jordan Poole had 20 points for injured Andrew Wiggins, despite making only 1 of 9 3-point attempts.

Thompson had 12 points in the first quarter, going 5-of-9 from the field, and had 24 points at halftime. Curry had 12-of-21 shooting, seven assists and six rebounds in 37 minutes.

Jaylen Brown had 31 points and nine boards, Jayson Tatum had 18 points and Malcolm Brogdon added 16 as a substitute for Boston, who had won eight of nine, including three in a row.

Brown scored five consecutive points in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer with 6:37 left to put the Celtics up 105-97. Grant Williams was ejected with 1:52 remaining.

Poole assisted Draymond Green for a transition dunk on the Warriors’ next possession.
