PlayStation Plus has been renewed: this is what the different subscriptions are about | NOW

The renewed subscription service PlayStation Plus has been available in the Netherlands since Thursday. Sony’s service now offers multiple levels at varying prices. In this article we explain the differences.

PlayStation Plus is Sony’s service for its PlayStation consoles. There are now three levels: Essential, Extra and Premium.

PlayStation Plus Essential is the cheapest option at 8.99 euros per month or 59.99 euros per year. This variant therefore has the fewest extras. Essential gives you access to online multiplayer (for games that are not free to play, such as Fortnite), discounts on PlayStation Store and access to two PS4 games and a PS5 game each month.

Slightly more expensive is PlayStation Plus Extra. You pay 13.99 euros per month or 99.99 euros per year. You get everything that is in the Essential package and access to a catalog with hundreds of PS4 and PS5 games. They are playable on the console after downloading.

The list of PS4 and PS5 games includes Bloodborne, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn in Red Dead Redemption 2† On the website from PlayStation they are all called.

PlayStation Plus Premium costs 16.99 euros per month or 119.99 euros per year and offers most functions. This package contains everything from Essential and Plus. This also gives subscribers access to game demos, so that they can already play a bit before purchasing a new game. Progress in those demos carries over to the full versions of the games.

In addition, Premium members get access to many classic games, previously released for the PS1, PS2, and PS3. They also get access to some titles that came out on the handheld PSP. The PlayStation website lists all classic titles in a row. This includes Ape Escape, Syphon Filter, Tekken 2, Ico in Infamous.
