‘Planet On’: everything you need to know about the sixth Environmental Film Festival

This event, which will take place from August 19 to 28will have a varied audiovisual proposal of 17 films and short films produced in France, the United Kingdom, the United States and other countriesas well as a series of virtual talks starring prominent film directors and documentarians such as Jennifer Peedom, Orlando Von Einsidiel, and Sara Dosa.

“For this new version of the Festival, this meeting will seek to make visible through images, special guests and experiences, the environmental crisis that the world is currently experiencing and make viewers aware of the responsibility that we human beings have regarding the care of our environment”expresses Norma Cuadros, director of Planet On.

In its sixth edition, Planet On will have United Kingdom as guest country, with premiere cinematographic works for Colombia and Latin America, with a focus on the conservation of endemic species in the region.

Additionally, during the inaugural event, the film River will be presented, directed by Australian Jennifer Peedom and recognized as the “Best International Feature Film” at the Florida Film Festival.

Planet On will screen his films simultaneously in Bogotá and Medellín. In the capital of the country it will be in the Plazoleta de Maloka, the District Cinematheque, and the Network of Public Libraries, BibloRed. For its part, in the City of Eternal Spring, in the Otraparte Cultural and Environmental Park, and in Comfama Aranjuez.

This will be the programming

The films will be distributed in four categories, with production dates between 2020 and 2022:

  • ‘Our Planet’: national tapes
  • ‘Last Planet’: international titles
  • ‘Future Planet’: audiovisuals produced for on-demand content platforms.
  • ‘Small Planet’: short films.

In addition, the Festival will have a virtual space called ‘Think Green, Think On’with conferences, workshops, talks and meetings of the audiovisual industry, moderated by renowned figures such as Claudia Bahamón, Mónica Fonseca, Natalia Reyes, among others, and transmitted via streaming through the page www.planeton.co
