Pip Pellens Joins National Allergy Monitor’s Supervisory Board: A Young and Experienced Member Driving Allergy Awareness and Education

Pip Pellens (1993) joined the Supervisory Board of the National Allergy Monitor on 17 July.

With the appointment of Pip Pellens, the Supervisory Board gains an experienced and young member, which is important, because allergies are increasingly common among young people and women. The board of the National Allergy Monitor is pleased with Pellens’ appointment. Pip herself has suffered from various allergies for years and therefore realizes as a patient how important it is to receive the correct information. Unfortunately, there are still many misunderstandings and prejudices about allergies,’ says Dr Monique Gorissen, chairman of the monitor and allergist.

Pellens has a wide reach through its social media channels with which it can inform people about living with an allergy.

Pip Pellens started as an actress in 2003, has played in many musicals, films and TV series. She gained national fame through her role in GTST and her theater show Pip Goes Offline. In addition, she is committed to various charities, including ‘Free a Girl’ and now also for the National Allergy Monitor.

Pip Pellens; “I think it’s important that people realize that they don’t have to ‘learn to live’ with this and don’t have to buy expensive tests for this. I am happy to be able to contribute to this.”

‘The Supervisory Board helps us to stay sharp and to constantly look for opportunities to increase our impact and thus reduce the knowledge gap between people with allergies and their practitioners,’ says Gorissen.

About the National Allergy Monitor

The foundation was established to share knowledge completely independently between the specialist, industry and the public.

The Allergy Monitor is the authority for both allergy sufferers and practitioners to get a good overview of what is important for patients in living with allergies on the one hand, and of the knowledge and possibilities that experts see for diagnosis and treatment on the other.

Editorial Medicalfacts/ Janine Budding

I have specialized in interactive news for healthcare providers, so that healthcare providers are informed every day about the news that may be relevant to them. Both lay news and news specifically for healthcare providers and prescribers. Social Media, Womens Health, Patient advocacy, patient empowerment, personalized medicine & Care 2.0 and the social domain are spearheads for me to pay extra attention to.

I studied physiotherapy and Health Care business administration. I am also a registered independent client support worker and informal care broker. I have a lot of experience in various positions in healthcare, the social domain and the medical, pharmaceutical industry, nationally and internationally. And have broad medical knowledge of most healthcare specialties. And of the care laws from which the care is regulated and financed. Every year I attend most of the leading medical conferences in Europe and America to keep my knowledge up-to-date and to keep up with the latest developments and innovations. Currently I am doing a Masters in Applied Psychology.
