Former national team defender David Limberský extended his contract with Pilsen for a year. The West Bohemian club informed about the agreement with the 36-year-old football player, whose original contract was to end after this season, on its website today.
“David and I had an agreement that at the end of the season we will sit at the same table with the coach and sports director and talk about the future. With his performances on the field he clearly showed that it is beneficial for the team. we quickly agreed to extend the contract, “ said the general manager of the club Adolf Šádek.
“I’m glad I honestly couldn’t imagine I should end now.” added by Limber. “Yesterday my daughter was born, today I agreed with another club of my heart on another contract, I enjoy every day and I still have a lot of strength and energy. I will work and I believe that a great season awaits us with the team,” added.
He also appreciated the approach of coach Adrian Guľa, who considers it another impulse to continue working on himself. “It’s something new, it breaks away from different stereotypes and I really enjoy learning new things. At the end of my career, I still want to enjoy it and I believe I didn’t say the last word,” he declared.
Limberský is a pupil of Pilsen, for Victoria he played 370 of the total 383 matches in the first league and added another 81 in European cups, including the prestigious Champions League. He won five championship titles with the West Bohemian club and has also worked in Sparta, Modena and Tottenham.
