After a break of more than two years, one of the most prestigious events in the film industry – the Cannes Film Festival – has returned with its splendor, red carpet, luxurious costumes and movie stars. It opened on the French Riviera on 6 July.

Recall that last time Cannes Film Festival in full glory with movie stars and the audience in person took place in the spring of 2019, but in 2020 was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, the festival has moved from the traditional dates in May to the middle of summer.

This year, the festival opened with a screening of director Leos Carax’s film-opera “Annette”. The film, starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotiara, will be released to Amazon by August 6 this year.

The entire team of the film “Annette” was visible on the red carpet at the opening of the festival. French film stars and celebrities were also parked in front of the camera. Hollywood actresses Jody Foster and Helen Mirren, South Korean director Junho Bons and other stars also attended the opening ceremony.

It has already been reported that the jury of the Cannes Film Festival will be chaired this year by the innovative US film director Spike Lee, becoming the first black man in the prestigious position of the president of the jury.
