Petroleum Minister: Egypt exports one billion cubic feet of gas per day to Europe, at 10 shipments per month

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tariq Al-Mulla, said today, Wednesday, that Egypt will increase the gas exported to Europe to 20 consignments per month after operating the liquefaction station in Damietta.

He pointed out that Egypt exports one billion cubic feet of gas per day to Europe at the rate of 10 shipments per month, adding that Egypt expects the petroleum subsidy bill to reach 30 billion pounds in 2019-2020.

The Minister of Petroleum said that during the next few weeks, Egypt will announce the companies that will search for oil in the western Mediterranean and talk to Total, BP, Chevron and ExxonMobil.

He added that Egypt would offer a mix between bidding and direct agreement with some companies to search and prospect for oil in the western Mediterranean, explaining that one of the countries of the East Mid gas line agreement invited us to participate and we preferred to wait
