Vladimir Petkovic will remain coach of the Swiss team for two more years, until the end of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. The ASF confirmed this Tuesday at a press conference in Muri. The new agreement will automatically be extended to the Qatari World Cup if Switzerland qualifies.

Vladimir Petkovic, in office since August 2014, had made no secret of his desire to remain in office. Pierluigi Tami, the head of the ASF national teams, expressed the same wish last January.
Under the leadership of Ticino, the national team rose to the knockout stages of Euro 2016 as well as the 2018 World Cup and qualified for Euro 2020 which will be contested this summer. She will face Wales on June 13 in Baku, Italy on June 17 in Rome and then Turkey on June 21 in Baku.
