“Let’s go … walk … be careful,” said one police officer.

Police lines were installed around the Pertamina tanker truck. The police and the fire brigade (Damkar) are still at the scene.

Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman explained that the Pertamina truck initially drove from Cibubur to Cileungsi. The location of the accident occurred on the way down to the red light.

“The crime scene is here, so Pertamina’s vehicle runs from Cibubur to Cileungsi, where indeed the road conditions are declining and there are red lights stopping vehicles,” said Latif at the location.

Allegedly Brake Blong

Police are still investigating this deadly accident. It is suspected that the cause of the accident was that Pertamina’s truck brake failed.

Kakorlantas Polri Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi said that the initial information he received was that the fatal accident was allegedly caused by a failed brake. However, the police will carry out further investigations.

“It’s still too early, the officers are still at the scene. The assumption is that the brakes failed. But it must be proven first to be objective,” said Firman when contacted detik.comMonday (18/7/2022).
