In a collision between a passenger train and a car at Schiedam, a person died on Monday evening, reports Rijnmond Safe.
It is still unknown how the accident happened and how the victim died. The police are still investigating traces on the spot.
The train was traveling in the direction of Delft when the collision took place. The accident caused a fire, which has since been extinguished.
200 passengers were evacuated from the train and taken to stations by shuttle buses.
There are no trains between Rotterdam and Delft until 6:30 am Tuesday morning due to the accident.
The Dutch Railways use express buses between Schiedam Center and Delft Campus.
