Persipura Jayapura Chronology Not Participating in the 2021 Menpora Cup

PSSI released a chronology Persipura Jayapura not following Menpora Cup 2021. black Pearl confirmed to be the only team not participating in this pre-season event.

Initially, Persipura had considered several things about their participation in the Menpora Cup. Through a letter to the Menpora Cup Organizing Committee (OC) on February 24, Persipura asked for disclosure about grouping and placement of participant locations, prizes, and transportation costs.

Persipura objected that the club only received a transportation fee of Rp. 100 million. OC Trophy Menpora only responded on March 1 or after five days from the Persipura letter.

“Assistance for transportation costs of Rp 100,000,000 is very far from the value that we will spend as transportation costs. We go and return to the 2021 Menpora Cup home location, the cost we spend for the round trip is around Rp. 320,000,000. For that, it is related to assistance. Our transportation offers 2 options to OC, namely to meet the cost needs (Rp. 320,000,000) or buy tickets and pay for our baggage, “said Persipura’s letter number 004 / PT.PP / II / 2021 on February 24.

OC Menpora Cup 2021 in his reply to Persipura stated that he was ready to increase the transportation money. However, Persipura did not grant the figure requested for Rp. 30 million.

“The cost consideration is adjusted to take into account the geographic factors of the club and the financial condition of the organizing committee,” said OC’s official letter to Persipura on March 1.

On the same day when replying to a letter Persipura Jayapura, OC Trophy Menpora also sent an official letter to all tournament participants. In a letter numbered 004 / LIB-COR / III / 2021, it was explained that the group division of all participants would be done by drawing, however several things still took into account what was the input and result of the consultation with the National Police Headquarters.

It also explains the accommodation of 17 rooms, and it tells you the amount of prizes during the tournament. The letter also answers the question Persipura about openness about grouping questions and the location of participants.

This means that only Persipura’s transportation costs are not granted. The problem is, the Menpora Cup OC was late in replying to Persipura’s letter.

On the one hand, registration for the Menpora Cup participants was closed on February 26. Apart from Persipura, there are also Persebaya Surabaya, Persita Tangerang and Persik Kediri, which have not registered on the deadline.

In the end, Persebaya, Persita, and Persik registered themselves even though they were late. Only Persipura has not registered even though PSSI and OC are still waiting.

But OC still invited Persipura on March 5 to the Manager Meeting and the Menpora Cup drawing on March 8. Persipura remains in its stance not to register.

“This is related to the delay in the OC of Menpora Cup 2021 in responding to several things that we consider important to decide our participation in the 2021 Menpora Cup,” was the reply to Persipura’s letter regarding the invitation to the Menpora OC Cup to the Meeting and Drawing Manager.

Finally, Persipura sent another letter on March 9. Mutiara Hitam management apologized for not being able to participate in the Menpora Cup.

Previously, the Chairman of the OC Trophy Menpora Akhmad Hadian Lukita had apologized for the delay in replying to the letter Persipura Jayapura. That mistake in the end made Persipura reluctant to take part.
