Persija Jakarta ran aground in the pre-season tournament 2022 President’s Cup with four straight defeats. Before the last defeat, coach Thomas Doll had complained about the practice field.
Persija has passed four matches in the 2022 President’s Cup. In the Liga 1 pre-season event, the Kemayoran Tigers were not able to get a single point.
In a row, Persija lost 0-2 to Barito Putera, were crushed 1-5 by RANS Nusantara FC, lost 1-2 to Borneo FC, and finally fell 1-2 to Madura United. All matches were played at Segiri Stadium, Samarinda.
The result made Persija Jakarta eliminated from the club 2022 President’s Cup with the title of caretaker of Group B, by being the only team that was not able to score points in that group.
“The positive thing is that I can see every player’s form, and it can help me to determine players who are ready to play as a core player,” said Thomas Doll after the match against Madura United, as reported by Persija’s official website.
Had Criticism of the Practice Field
Before the fourth defeat of Persija in 2022 President’s Cup During this time, Doll had made a strong criticism regarding the training ground for her team in Samarinda.
According to Doll, the quality of the training field provided by the competition organizing committee was really bad. He even called it like a field for grazing cows.
“We got a ‘fantastic’ practice field today. I’ve only seen this field condition for the first time,” said Doll on Persija’s Youtube.
“If we had to train at a place like this every day it would be impossible and obviously disappointing because the risk of injury would be very high. We couldn’t train normally and thankfully we won’t be here for long because you can’t train in those conditions. . Hard to believe.”
“In Germany, we use field conditions like this for grazing cattle, not for football players,” said the 56-year-old tactician from Germany.
