Pepe Soriano is 91 years old and, despite the fact that many actors at his age have retired, he continues to enjoy his profession and is about to release “Nocturna”, a psychological thriller by Gonzalo Calzada that will mark his return to the big screen after ten years.
“It is not common to make movies at 90 years old. For me it was a huge challenge, accompanied by a director and production of a very good level, although they are not people who are named in the media, “Soriano said in statements to Télam, while the film is in post-production and with a view to being screened in theaters -protocol through- between April and June.
Among the handful of actors who with more than 90 years were in front of the camera are Angela Lansbury in “Buttons”, by Tim Janis, who did it in 2018 with 90, and Héctor Alterio (91) in “The consequences”, by Claudia Pinto, a film that, like “Nocturna”, is in post-production.
In this select group there are also the French Danielle Darrieux, who at the age of 93 acted in “Pièce montée” (2010); the Americans Lilien Gish in “The Whales of August” (1987), at the age of 97; and Max Berliner at 91 in “The Winter of the Weird” (2011), as well as a participation at 98 in “The Last Suit” (2017).

In “Nocturna”, Soriano plays Ulises, an almost centennial man who over the course of one night has to live a strange event that will put his lucidity and sanity to the test, while conversing with the ghosts of his past and reviewing the pending accounts with life.
