– The legal department of the La Repubblica newspaper wanted to remove the words “episcopate”, “nuncio” and even the word “bishops” from our announcement, although we strongly protested here. However, there are no specific names of Polish bishops that appeared in the original announcement – Justyna Zorn, a faithful from Gdańsk, who engaged in, among others, informs Onet. last year’s protests at the curia in Gdansk, but also meeting with a nuncio.
Zorn is also one of the initiators of the campaign to place an ad addressed to Pope Francis in the Italian newspaper. They hope that the advertisement in the newspaper La Repubblica will help the pope understand how bad the Polish Church is.
The group has collected over 40,000 PLN and for this money bought a one-page “advertisement” in Italian at La Repubblica. It will be released on June 29. Although in a slightly different version. The Italian newspaper’s legal department made several corrections because it was afraid of any lawsuits.
The original version of the announcement sounded different

“”Your Holiness, Holy Father Francis,
Please look at the Church in Poland, where bishops conceal pedophilia, where loyalty to institutions is more important than the good of victims, where the apostolic nuncio pretends not to see it. The congregation’s lack of resolute response regarding Archbishop Głóda, Bishop Janiak and Bishop Tyrawa causes public scandal, because many believers feel that the Vatican gives its consent, harms the good of the Church and strikes its unity, because it divides those who care for the good name of the institution and those who care for the victims.
We are begging you, Holy Father! Help!”.

Look with care at the Church in Poland, where cases of pedophilia have been confirmed, and loyalty to the institution is blind and deaf, more important than the good of the victims.
The lack of a decisive response of the church hierarchy to notices of unworthy behavior attributed to some bishops is a cause of public scandal and harms the good of the Church.
He breaks his unity because he divides us into those who worry about the image of institutions and those who care about the good of victims.
We are asking the Vatican for intervention.
We appeal to You, Holy Father:

Onet’s interlocutor is good that their appeal to the pope will be effective. In her opinion, the pope already has good advisers around him. Zorn recalls one of his last decisions.
