British actress Helen McCrory, known for her roles in the ‘Harry Potter’ films and the television series Peaky Blinders’, has passed away unexpectedly. Her husband, actor Damian Lewis, has confirmed this. McCrory turned 52.

“It breaks my heart to report that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and powerful woman Helen McCrory passed away peacefully at home in her sleep, surrounded by friends and family,” Lewis said on Twitter. “She died as she lived: without fear. God, we loved her and know how lucky we are to have her in our lives. ” It was already known that McCrory was suffering from cancer.
McCrory and Lewis were married since 2007 and have two children together: Manon (14) and Gulliver (13). McCrory was best known for her portrayals of Polly in the BBC series Peaky Blinders, to Narcissa Malfoy in de Harry Pottermovies and as Clair Dowar in the James Bond movie Skyfall.
