Pdte. of Venezuela decrees partial flexibility for Caracas | News

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Sunday the measures to ease the quarantine in each region of the country to gradually reactivate the economy in the South American country in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The time has come for a monitored partial relaxation of the quarantine to give the population a break and reactivate some economic sectors. The regions that benefit from this type I relaxation are: Capital District (Caracas) and the states of Miranda, Zulia, Sucre , La Guaira, Bolívar, Táchira, Aragua and Carabobo, “said the head of state.

The high president urged the population to respect biosecurity norms, “it is up to the people whether the easing measures are continued or would cease to resume a radical quarantine,” he added.

For her part, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, pointed out that the flexibilization measure for these regions is a step to gradually reactivate the national economy, “the sectors that are starting to reactivate this week are: construction, hardware, chemical raw material industry, transportation, banks, hairdressers, auto parts and mechanics, medical, dental and veterinary offices, textile and footwear industry, and personalized plumbing and refrigeration services, “he added.

“Regarding general flexibility, but with their respective care, the states that take advantage of this measure are Lara, Mérida, Trujillo, Yaracuy, Barinas, Guárico, Portuguesa, Cojedes, Falcón, Monagas, Anzoátegui, Apure (in the latter except the municipalities bordering Colombia, as in Táchira) and Delta Amacuro, “said President Maduro.

Balance Covid-19

“Today we have 844 new cases, 797 of community transmission and 47 imported. Our Caracas becomes the epicenter of the virus in the country (…) Venezuela reaches a total of 25,805 infections and 223 deaths from Covid-19,” reported the head of state.

Of the new community cases, Caracas registered 337 new cases followed by Miranda states with 136 infections, La Guaira 99, Zulia state with 80, Bolívar with 57, Mérida with 17, the same number in Monagas, while Aragua registered 16 new infections, 13 in Yaracuy, eight in Nueva Esparta, six in Guárico, four in Lara, three in Falcón, two in Apure and two in Sucre.

“Compared to the new imported cases, 42 are from Colombia and five from Brazil (…) in addition, we report eight new deaths. “Of the 76,665 Venezuelans who have returned, a total of 5,491 have tested positive for coronavirus and have had all the corresponding treatments to combat the virus,” said the head of state.
