The PDIP social media account uploaded a video containing the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution invited to elect a presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo. The upload was seen as an attempt to “cut off” parties outside the PDIP who claimed to have the support of Gibran and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Because before that there had not been a statement or firm statement from Mas Gibran or Mas Bobby. So the speculation was quite wild, for example when asked by Mas Gibran about the possibility of Prabowo’s cawapres, the answer would definitely not be old enough, still a kencur child, still a minor ,” said the Director of Indonesian Political Parameters (PPI) Adi Prayitno in the Adu Perspective discussion held by detik.com and Total Politics, Monday (21/8/2023).
“But the answer is not clear in black and white, yes and no, the answer is quite diplomatic, not black and public. So that the public then suspects that Mas Wali wants to but is shy, right, that’s the answer,” he added.
Adi saw the PDIP video upload as an attempt to ward off and at the same time “cut off” those who claimed to have the support of Jokowi and Gibran. So, according to Adi, there will no longer be parties from outside the PDIP who claim to have Jokowi’s support.
“This video that was raised by my friends, through the PDIP, for me this is no longer dismissing, this is an amputation, wanting to break the chain so that no one outside the PDIP claims to have support from Gibran and Jokowi,” he said.
Adi linked Gibran and Bobby’s video uploads on the PDIP social media accounts with the guesswork that Jokowi made during his visit to North Sumatra. Jokowi’s guess is about white hair.
“Because at the same time, before this video appeared, Jokowi, for example, at the Muhammadiyah Student Association event, guessed what white hair was called gray hair, what red hair was called, and so on,” said Adi.
“Shortly after that a video appeared, Gibran also attached a photo of Ganjar and Jokowi, while saying don’t forget February 14 to vote for PDIP and Ganjar, that’s the story,” he added.
The video showing the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution and the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming inviting them to support Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election was uploaded to PDIP’s social media. Gibran and Bobby asked voters to vote for Ganjar on election day.
