JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV– The DPR Commission I working meeting, which was actually attended by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, was only attended by Deputy Defense Minister Herindra. This made Commission I member of the PDIP Faction Effendi Simbolon disappointed.
“The reason is because there is a meeting (limited meeting) with the President. What do you want the meeting to be called? It’s surprising that the meeting is limited,” said Effendi, Monday (31/5/2021).
According to Effendi, it is not only the meeting with President Jokowi that is important, the DPR is equally important. “Is it true that the President can’t be told? Say, sir. Permission for a meeting,” added Effendi.
Effendi also asked for this to be a concern. Because it has been a year since Commission I has never had a working meeting that Prabowo has attended directly. “Should we be forced to summon? The DPR can forcefully summon it,” he said.
Previously, Commission I of the DPR had scheduled a working meeting with the Ministry of Defense with the agenda of questioning the budget plan for the main weapon system (defense equipment) amounting to IDR 1,760 trillion which became a polemic in the community.
“At 10:00 today, ready. We will have a meeting. Because I also don’t know this (about the defense equipment budget plan, ed),” said Golkar Party politician Bobby Adithyo Rizaldi in an interview with Sapa Indonesia Sapi in KOMPAS TV, Monday (31/5/2021).
