PDIP politician Henry Yosodiningrat corrected his statement regarding the direction from the National Police Chief to the Regional Police ranks to win certain pairs in the 2024 presidential election.

This was conveyed directly by Henry after meeting with Kabaharkam Polri Komjen Fadil Imran at Polri Headquarters, on Monday (12/2). He confirmed that the information previously conveyed in a discussion was a hoax.

“It has been confirmed that the information is not true, (the National Police Chief) gave the Director of Community Development (Dirbinmas) 5 points as I conveyed,” he said to journalists at the location.

Henry explained that he initially received the hoax information via the WhatsApp application while on his way to a discussion event with Military Expert Connie Rahakundini.

He then deliberately conveyed this information on the discussion agenda in the hope that the election could run fairly and there would be no fraud. Therefore, Henry admitted that he was ready if he had to be questioned regarding his statement.

“When I was traveling to the event, I opened WA and saw this and I conveyed it in the discussion. I conveyed it solely because of my love for this country,” he explained.

“That’s why I’m saying, if this isn’t true, please clarify it to me. But if it’s true, I’ll say ‘mbok, yes, it’s withdrawn and yes, mbok, you’re embarrassed’,” he added.

Furthermore, Henry admitted that he did not have time to confirm the message directly to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. He then admitted that he had only been contacted by a number of regional police chiefs after his statement went viral on social media.

“Indeed, I should have confirmed with the National Police Chief, but because of the communication breakdown, I didn’t have contact with him and I didn’t confirm,” he said.

In communications with a number of regional police chiefs, Henry said he had been explained that the information he had conveyed was wrong.

However, he decided not to immediately believe it and chose to confirm it directly with the Kabaharkam Polri who oversees the Directorate of Community Development at the Regional Police level.

“He (Fadil) called me to say that he had confirmed with the National Police Chief and it had been confirmed that the information was not true,” he said.

“I needed to meet him to ask him directly, then he explained that what he said over the telephone was indeed true. In the sense that there was never any direction from the National Police Chief, that’s all,” he continued.

Meanwhile, on the same occasion, Fadil assessed that the case of misunderstanding had been resolved. He then hopes that with this clarification the public will no longer be influenced by hoax news on social media.

“With clarification from him (Henry), I hope that people will know and understand the information circulating on social media, we will straighten everything out,” he concluded.

Previously, in a video clip that went viral in a discussion forum, Henry revealed five allegations of non-neutrality by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

First, the National Police Chief is said to have ordered the use of the National Police Binmas function as an instrument for winning the election. Two, the door to door system by Bhabinkamtibmas can no longer be used.

Third, he was ordered to mobilize community service and order da’i to utilize religious facilities as a forum for management and assurance for one of the candidate pairs.

Apart from that, four, the National Police Chief is said to have also asked for control of the security and order preachers by providing each of them with a new mobile phone device with a foreign sim card number and a mobile internet modem.

Finally, the National Police Chief is also said to have asked for financial assistance from BUJP (Security Services Business Entity) entrepreneurs who are colleagues of the Binmas Directorate in their respective regions.
