PDI Perjuangan Elite (PDIP) Ma’am Maharani responded positively to President Joko Widodo’s youngest son (Jokowi) Kaesang Pangarep to run as a candidate for Mayor (Walkot) Depok. Chairman of the DPP PSI Depok, Icuk Pramana, was grateful for Puan’s support.
“Alhamdulillah, if the blessing and support from other parties starts to arrive,” said Icuk Pramana when contacted, Tuesday (6/6/2023).
Icuk hopes that other political parties can also share the same views as PSI regarding the future leaders of Depok City. He also hoped that with the signal given by Puan, it could become a joint movement for nationalists to develop Depok.
“Apart from PSI, we hope that other parties will also have the same views for the future of Depok City. I hope this will become a movement with Depok City nationalists,” he said.
Icuk further said that there was no leak from Kaesang which political party he would join. Icuk admits that the most important thing for him is the effort to advance the City of Depok.
“There have been no leaks regarding which party Kaesang is anchored in. Whatever party it is, our endeavor is only to advance the city of Depok,” he added.
Puan Invites Kaesang to Run for the Depok Pilwalkot
Previously, the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani opened her voice about support for President Jokowi’s youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, to run for the Depok Pilkada. Puan gave a positive response about Kaesang competing in Depok.
“For Mas Kaesang, you may also enter Depok,” said Puan during a press conference at the PDIP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Tuesday (6/6).
Puan said PDIP would consider Kaesang running in Depok. PDIP, said Puan, would also ask Kaesang directly if he was interested in joining PDIP.
“Later the PDIP will consider it, after all, the regional elections are still in 2024, but yes, later I will ask Mas Kaesang if he is interested or not to join the PDIP,” he said.
Gerindra Supports Kaesang
Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, welcomed President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) son, Kaesang Pangarep, to become serious about becoming the leader of Depok City. Muzani assessed that the young figure of Kaesang presented a new nuance to the city of Depok.
“I think this is good news, good news, pleasant news and exciting news for the passion and life of the city of Depok,” said Muzani at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (5/6).
Muzani said that Depok must be led by a young person who is able to present creativity. He hopes this can be realized.
“The news of Mas Kaesang’s advancement is pleasant news that brings joy to the excitement of life in Depok, hopefully it can materialize and Gerindra is ready to support when needed,” he continued.
