Capcom decided to build on the excitement and encourage pre-orders for Resident Evil Village by releasing a demo with a time limit of one hour. Of course, PC gamers quickly found ways to extend gameplay by more than 60 minutes.

As you’d expect, a lot of Steam users asked Leaves to send in their tool to automate the reset. When someone joked that it might be quicker to wait for a game release than to follow up with a reset, Leaves responded by saying, “Haha, okay – not much content on the demo, just to explore and get one’s hands on Gimicks one might become. [sic] Missed. So one hour is enough to complete the second “demo”.

For many people, the first hour will be more than enough to decide whether they want to buy the game or not. Regardless of whether you choose to reset the deadline or not, Capcom plans to release Resident Evil Village on May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S and Stadia, so there wasn’t long to wait and Switch owners were simply left assuming they weren’t playing on any other platform.
