Patriarch Bartholomew during the night liturgy on Easter, he asked Ukraine and Russia to make a “Christian” move – an exchange for all. As the spiritual leader of Orthodoxy said, this would be a fluid expression of God during the great holidays.
Bartholomew noted that he supports the movement’s initiative “Our way out“exchanged on the principle of “all for all.” The Ecumenical Patriarch said:
“Spiritually we support the Our Exit campaign to exchange prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine during the Easter holidays. This would be a way to explain the power of the Resurrection.”
As mentioned on the page “Our Exit”, the Russian group went to the Patriarch during the holidays with a request to support the corresponding campaign. The appeal of the movement says: “We, on behalf of the relatives of the captured soldiers, ask you on this day of Holy Easter, on the day of universal forgiveness and the greatness of the Spirit, call on the powers that be ‘ there to exchange prisoners. on the principle “all for all.”
It is noted that on the Catholic Easter, Pope Francis made the same request for an exchange in the Vatican.
Budanov referred to the Pope’s claim
On March 31, Pope Francis, on the Catholic Easter, expressed a desire for a general exchange of all prisoners between Russia and Ukraine – in the form of “all to all“.
This opportunity said the head of the Central Intelligence Agency Ukraine Kirill Budanov. He said that he supports the initiative, but there is one nuance: without Russia’s consent this is impossible, Budanov emphasized.
