The police authorities have been alerted by the disappearance of five minor children in Patras. The five brothers, aged 8, 9, 10, 11 and 16, had been taken to the University Hospital in Rio and specifically to the pediatric clinic following a prosecutor’s order.
It is noted that the children lived in a ground-floor residence in Patras under miserable conditions, while at the same time the possibility that they have been victims of sexual abuse is being investigated.
“The prosecutor’s order was issued on 4/30. Tests are done on the children, which point to sexual abuse from the family environment. The prosecutor’s order is that the children should not be seen by their parents at all”, said the president of POEDIN Michalis Giannakos.
The children had been transferred to the pediatric clinic of the University Hospital of Rio to be accommodated temporarily and to undergo the necessary tests until a suitable accommodation structure could be found.
However, the children escaped the attention of the volunteers and “escaped” from the hospital, with the authorities conducting an investigation to locate them.
