The situation of the Girondins is clearly becoming a political affair following the letter led by Nathalie Delattre.

The parliamentarians of Gironde come into play

Through the voice of Nathalie Delattre, who is vice-president of the Senate, and therefore Senator of Gironde, the parliamentarians ask that a delegation from the club be received by the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.

Excerpt from the letter: “While the club obviously wishes to seize the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, in order to propose a conciliation to the French Football Federation, we affirm that the Government must take up the subject. Three hundred direct jobs and at least as many indirect depend on it, and it is a whole territory that intends to fight.

Also, parliamentarians from Gironde, elected in Bordeaux and throughout the department, we unite our voices to solemnly ask you to receive, as soon as possible, a delegation mandated by the Girondins de Bordeaux club.

A minister “under pressure”

Bordeaux Métropole had also launched an appeal to the Minister of Sports, an appeal to which she had responded in a press release indicating to take the situation into consideration and to be vigilant for the smooth running of the appeal procedure.

Pierre Hurmic, the mayor of Bordeaux, had also called on the Minister of Sports to move the file, but was not fully satisfied with his speech.
