Piotr Trochowski returns to Hamburg

Piotr Trochowski played 259 games in his career for the Hamburg sports club. Now the ex-international has returned to his long-standing club. He should strengthen the third team.

Piotr Trochowski makes a surprising comeback in the shirt of Hamburger SV. The former national soccer player, who had his last professional assignment at FC Augsburg four years ago, wants to compete for HSV III in the Oberliga Hamburg in the future. In Marcell Jansen, President of Hamburger SV e.V., another former DFB selection player is regularly in action.

“I’m looking forward to HSV’s third. There are great boys playing there,” Trochowski told the “Bild” newspaper about his commitment. “Trotsche” could make his first HSV appearance in the 5th division after the winter break on February 14th (7.30 p.m.) at TuS Osdorf.

Trochowski played for HSV in the Bundesliga for years. The 35-year-old scored 36 goals and 55 assists in a total of 259 games for the red pants. For the national team, he completed 35 games (two goals).
