However, the route taken will be different. In the panoramic train trial, the route passed was Jakarta-Yogyakarta. Later, this train will be linked to the Argo Parahyangan (Gambir-Bandung pp) and Argo Wilis (Bandung-Surabaya Gubeng pp) passenger trains.

The fare for the Argo Parahyangan Panoramic costs IDR 350,000 and the Argo Wilis Panoramic IDR 1,120,000, with a train capacity of 38 seats. Tickets can be ordered through the KAI Access application, the KAI website, and all other official KAI ticket sales channels.

Panoramic car is Indonesia’s first train that presents beautiful views because it has large windows. Apart from having larger windows, this train also has a number of other facilities, such as comfortable seats, spacious toilets and automatic sensors, televisions, special luggage racks, food, drinks, snacks and blankets.

The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, tried this Panoramic Train. According to him, there is a new sensation while riding this train.

“This gives a different sensation because you can enjoy the scenery along the way,” he said in a written statement, quoted Monday (30/1/2023).

For information, currently service panoramic car already exists in several countries, such as the United States (US), Japan, and Switzerland. “Currently we already have panoramic trains like those abroad. So you don’t have to go all the way to Switzerland. This is a good innovation from PT KAI,” said the Minister of Transportation.

Because the public’s interest in the Panoramic Train is quite high, according to him, this train has the potential to continue to be developed. “I think the number of trains and their routes can be added in the future because of the high public interest in these trains,” he said.
