Rocky Gerung reported here and there and criticized by various parties after allegedly insulting President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) with bastard statements. The National Mandate Party or PAN believes that Rocky Gerung is de-legitimizing himself as a non-existent and unintellectual figure.
This was conveyed by the Waketum of PAN Viva Yoga Mauladi. He initially discussed that the Government really needed an opposition in order for checks and balances to take place.
“PAN believes that the process of checks and balances in the political realm of power will be able to improve the quality of democracy. The body of democracy needs criticism so that life becomes healthy and strong. This means that every power in state institutions cannot be sterile from criticism or cannot be anti-criticism,” said Viva in his statement, Thursday (3/8/2023).
However, Viva said that many parties became furious when the criticism turned into blasphemy, even an insult. Moreover, he said, Jokowi as the Head of State who was insulted did not budge in the slightest.
“Many are annoyed and furious with President Jokowi why until today he has never reported his critics to law enforcement officials. They are furious because these critics have been categorized as blasphemous, insulting, hateful words, and are out of civility as human beings who have heart and soul,” he explained.
Even so, Viva regretted that in the end the criticism that arose from Rocky Gerung seemed uncivilized. He also emphasized that the criticism actually showed the bad quality of Rocky Gerung.
“His last sarcastic criticism of President Jokowi as a ‘stupid son of a bitch and a cowardly son of a bitch’ actually delegitimized his quality as a figure that is uncivilized, intellect and cultureless,” he insisted.
“Rocky Gerung has lost his own existence and dignity. Rocky Gerung did not study Javanese culture which states that ‘ajining self is saka lathi, ajining body is saka fashion’, meaning that a person’s self-esteem is determined by speech, one’s honor is displayed through appearance/clothing,” continued he.
The PAN spokesman also submitted all these issues to the realm of law. Not only that, he also invited Rocky Gerung to remain active in criticizing, but with good narration and diction.
“Come on, Bang Rocky Gerung, criticize power as hard as a rock and as sharp as a razor. But please, take care of your narrative and diction so that it doesn’t degrade your quality,” he added.
