Pakistan guarantees to the IMF that it will respect the terms of its aid loan program – Ferplei

“I have transferred the government’s resolution to complete the terms of this program to the managing director”, the premier assured this Saturday on his Twitter account after Friday’s conversation with Georgieva, to whom he however explained “the difficulties that the Country after the devastating floods”.

The torrential rains that devastated the country in autumn last year caused 1,700 deaths and material damage for almost 14 billion euros.

The prime minister’s statement comes after announcing the visit of an IMF delegation to Pakistan to try to finalize the ninth review of the so-called Expanded Fund Facility worth 6.6 billion euros that the country signed in 2019.

Pakistan would receive, in the event of a positive revision, 1,100 million euros, but the Pakistani government has refused to accept some conditions of the Fund, recalls the newspaper ‘Dawn’.
