That it took so long to oxygen in another Galaxy found, is due to the atmosphere of our earth. This absorbs many wavelengths of light necessary for the detection of oxygen are necessary. The light from Markarian 231 goes reddish, however, because the waves have drawn into the oblong during the long journey to Earth.
