The second division teams are not only applauded by the fans in their home stadium, but also on the road. But who can count on the greatest support from their fans on foreign pitches? liga2-online.de provides the answer.

FCK fans set the standards

The fan power that rose to the 2nd Bundesliga is once again impressively underlined when you look at these statistics. On average, nearly 5,000 (!) 1. FC Kaiserslautern travel all over Germany to follow their team. The record was set at the match in Hamburg, when 10,000 Palatinate supporters showed up in the north. At the game in Rostock there were fewer with 764 fans. Hamburger SV follows in second place: the traditional club brings an average of 3,679 own fans to foreign stadiums. 10,000 attended the match in Hanover. With the still sensational number of 2,000 fans, the guest duel in Kiel is the weakest value of the HSV season.

The faithful companions of the 1. FC Magdeburg come to the bronze standings. On average, 3,039 blue-and-whites follow the team. Again the maximum was the 10,000 fans at the Hamburg stadium. 820 fans in Sandhausen meant the lowest value for FCM. Naturally, FC Hansa Rostock can also count on the support of its most loyal members. An average of 2,573 fans at the stadium cheered on the gear. Here, too, Hamburg was the most popular starting point: there were 9,000 Hansa supporters. With 974 passengers, FCH Darmstadt just missed the four-digit mark.

Sandhausen closes the queue

The fans of SSV Jahn Regensburg, third from bottom, on the other hand, are less enthusiastic about travelling. On average, 336 followers arrive. The highest value (606) was set in Heidenheim. The minimum (120) in Bielefeld. Speaking of Heidenheim: An average of 219 fans accompany the team. The record (415) was in Nuremberg, followed only by 58 in Kiel. In last place is SV Sandhausen, which welcomes an average of 195 people in the guest block. 500 came to Darmstadt, 30 to Rostock.

Away Drivers Table

Annotation: We usually get numbers direct from clubs (both home and away clubs). We are aware that there are also fans of the respective host clubs in freely accessible areas of the stadium and that the respective information may deviate from the actual number of visiting fans. However, since we could only estimate such an “undisclosed figure” very inaccurately, we refrain from doing so and rely on reliable and verifiable sources.
