Over twelve kilos of psychiatric drugs were found in the fields

The discovery in via Caliera in Sacca di Goito by the inter-municipal police of the Hills

GOITO. The Inter-municipal Local Police Corps of Goito, Roverbella, Marmirolo and Unione Colli Mantovani every day finds illegal dumps of abandoned waste. The agents found everything, bags of clothing, construction debris, tires. But twelve kilos of psychiatric drugs still hadn’t happened. During a last inspection service on the wide area of competence, in the locality of Caliera a Sacca, on a country plot, the agents – on the recommendation of some citizens – found an abandoned bag containing about twelve kilos of boxes of psychotropic drugs, some of the such as expired, others still usable, and numerous medical prescriptions stamped. After collecting further clues and testimonies, with the green light of the prosecutor’s office, the local police also carried out a house search to search for further evidence. Eventually, the agents identified and reported the perpetrator, a man from Goito, with a history of various crimes including receiving stolen goods, false ideology and substitution of person.

Also in the last week, the Local Intercommunal Police, upon notification of citizens, found other waste abandoned in Volta Mantovana, Ferri locality and always from the investigations on the contents of the bags it traced back to the alleged perpetrators of the abandonment.

Further investigations are also underway relating to the discovery of a fair amount of urban waste buried near agricultural land on the morainic hills, to be precise in via dei Boschi, Petecchi di Volta Mantovana. This is urban waste, probably the result of emptying a cellar or an attic.

And it’s not over yet: the local police are continuing their investigations into the illegal transport and disposal of municipal waste against a man reported in Goito at the end of January, resulting in the seizure of the vehicle used to transport the waste. From further investigations and in collaboration with colleagues from Verona and Vicenza, the agents traced other episodes that occurred last October to reconstruct illicit trafficking that extended beyond the Mantua area and beyond the regional border.

“Interventions – as Commander Emanuele Feudatari points out – that involve a great deal of work by local police operators, engaged in a hard and constant fight against incivility and petty crime linked to illegal waste trafficking and disposal and require great professionalism and efficiency”. –
