Over 92% of Workers Return to Work After Tet Holiday

About 92% of workers return to work after Tet

As of February 15 (6th of the Lunar New Year), about 92 percent of workers had returned to work after the Tet holiday, it was learned at a press conference held by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the February 26.

The General Confederation of Labor of Vietnam informed the press of the activities in support of trade unionists and workers during the Tet holiday, the most important in a year, with priority given to people in difficulty, beneficiaries of social policy and ethnic minorities, among others.

More than 10.5 million trade unionists and workers benefited from these activities from various levels of the union with total funding of more than 7.025 billion VND (284.55 million USD), an increase of 15%. year-on-year.

Of this total, 3,506 billion VND came from union financial sources and 3,506 billion VND came from socialization sources, representing 50.1%.

Unions at all levels organized more than 18,000 “Head of Gathering – Spring of Sharing” programs, attracting nearly four million workers, of whom more than 2.1 million received gifts, for a total amount of nearly 1,306 billion dong.

The 2nd edition of the “Têt 2024 Union Market” program continues to become an important activity of unions at all levels. This program, organized in hybrid form with 25 activities, attracted around 390,000 workers with a budget estimated at more than 120 billion VND.

Thanks to this program, more than 243,000 workers received train, bus and plane tickets, for a total amount of nearly 106 billion VND. Likewise, unions at all levels in coordination with employers organized 5,049 free buses to bring 170,150 workers home for a total amount of nearly 49 billion VND.

As part of the “Union Tet Journey – Spring 2024” program, unions at all levels continue to offer train, bus and plane tickets, amounting to more than 106 billion VND, for helping more than 243,000 workers return home.
