Our legendary opera singer – Society – has died

Opera singer Sonya Nemirova has died. This was announced by her colleagues. The worship will take place on August 19 in the church “St. Sophia” from 11.00.

Sonya Nemirova is among the leading names of the Bulgarian Opera Theater. She debuted on the stage of the Varna Opera on March 15, 1970 in the role of Countess Maritsa from the operetta “Countess Maritsa” by Imre Kalman. There she met her future husband – opera director Evgeni Nemirov, son of the writer Dobri Nemirov.

After the death of Evgeni Nemirov on October 7, 1981, Sonya Nemirova was engaged in 1982 at the Rostock Opera and together with her daughter Vera Nemirova left for Germany. After 1989, Sonya Nemirova taught singing at the Berlin Conservatory.

In recent years, Sonya Nemirova has been working in support of her daughter’s creative projects and is the playwright of many of them – opera director Vera Nemirova, who since 1998 began independent directing with productions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Latvia, Romania and Bulgaria. .
