Ordered and picked up – New passport issuing terminal: German City Day

Citizens have recently been able to pick up their passports at an issuing terminal in the town hall of the city of Würzburg. This is located in the entrance area “Vierrohrenbrunnen” and replaces another appointment at the Citizens’ Office for collection. Municipal officer Wolfgang Kleiner is pleased about this further service expansion for citizens, which enables safe collection without waiting times.

“Citizens give their fingerprints when they apply and receive an email with a six-digit code as soon as the passport is deposited in the terminal opens the stored passport. This so-called two-factor authentication ensures that only authorized persons can pick up their passport at the issuing terminal,” explains Wolfgang Gräf, head of the citizens’ office.

At the start of the new service, Rebekka Stumpf from the citizens’ office will demonstrate how the terminal works, which city graphic artist Choon-Hee Bae gave a friendly color gradient to. It will soon be possible to collect ID cards from the issuing terminal.
