Oppositionist Ilya Yashin was detained in Moscow on June 28, 2022

In Moscow, during a walk in the park, police officers detained a well-known Russian opposition leader, deputy of the Krasnoselsky municipal district of the Russian Federation, Ilya Yashin.

Subsequently, Babloyan became aware that the oppositionist was accused of disobeying the police. He was allowed to meet with a lawyer.

Earlier, Yashin was fined 30,000 rubles ($560 – ed.) under the article about “discrediting the Russian army” after he published photographs of 1969 protests against the Vietnam War.

Recall the former colleague of Yashin – Alexei Navalny was added to the list of terrorists and extremists in January after he was charged with allegedly creating an extremist community.

Oppositionist is in jail since January 2021, when he returned to Russia after being treated in Germany for poisoning with the Novichok chemical.
