This is because the company has registered the required documents with related institutions such as the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) or the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin).

He gave an example, previously released cellphones such as the Oppo Reno6 or Oppo Find X3 may not have the IMEI number affected. Unlike the Oppo A95 and Oppo A16, which may happen if the stock runs out on the market.

“Moreover, we will launch a promo program at the end of the year. It is possible that the two cellphones will be affected if they are bought by the public,” said Aryo.

“Usually the new product has an okay response, because the price is really attractive. But if it’s currently on the market, I don’t think there’s a problem with the IMEI number,” said Aryo.

The Oppo A16 itself was launched last July with a version of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM. Then in September, the Oppo A16 was introduced with a version of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM.

The price of the Oppo A16 in Indonesia is Rp. 1,999,000 for 3GB/32GB, while the 4GB/64GB version is sold for Rp. 2,499,000.

This incident caused disruption to the IMEI registration process on mobile phones, handheld computers, and tablets (HKT) which were carried by passengers and consignments, which was carried out through the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance.
