Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” Enters Sixth Day, Threatening Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” enters its sixth day, and with it the field and life reality in Gaza enters a more complex stage in terms of securing the basic requirements of life in all its diversity and diversity, as well as in terms of monitoring the general health situation in the Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health indicated that “Gaza may witness the spread of epidemics and an environmental disaster that extends outside the Strip.” She added that “more than 50 medical personnel were killed in the Israeli bombing of Gaza.”

Regarding the humanitarian situation and the delivery of aid into the Gaza Strip, Jordanian television announced today that “Jordan is sending the first aid to Gaza since the outbreak of the war,” while Israeli Energy Minister Katz indicated that his country will not provide any humanitarian aid or resources to the Gaza Strip until it launches a movement. Hamas kidnapped people in her surprise attack over the weekend.

He said in a statement: “Humanitarian aid to Gaza? An electric switch will not be turned on, a water tap will not open, and a fuel truck will not enter until the kidnapped Israelis return to their homes.”

The International Committee of the Red Cross said that the besieged Gaza Strip still has some fuel to run generators, including those in hospitals, but it may run out within a few hours.

Fabrizio Carbone, director of operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross for the Near and Middle East, told reporters, “What we understand is that there is still fuel, but most likely for a few hours, for generators to operate, including those in hospitals.”

An official with the International Committee of the Red Cross stressed to Reuters that “the Red Cross cannot transfer stored supplies from one point to another in Gaza to deliver them safely to individuals and hospitals.”

He said: “We are preparing for the worst if Israel invades Gaza, and we are conducting consultations with all parties about a humanitarian corridor to Gaza, and the Rafah crossing with Egypt is the main option.”

Spread of epidemics

This field escalation comes as the Palestinian Red Crescent warns that “if the ban on the entry of fuel into the Gaza Strip continues, ambulance services will stop within 4 days,” at a time when the number of injured and dead is rising on a daily basis in Gaza.

In turn, Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Al-Kaila warned that “the Gaza Strip may witness the spread of epidemics and an environmental disaster that extends beyond it due to the bloody events it is witnessing.”

It also confirmed that the Israeli authorities refuse the entry of doctors from the West Bank or Egypt into Gaza to help rescue the wounded.

She stated in statements to Voice of Palestine Radio that more than 50 medical personnel have been killed in Israeli bombing since the start of the intense attacks at the beginning of this week.

Corridors out of Gaza

In a related context, and regarding the possibility of Palestinians exiting through specific corridors, an Egyptian official told the Associated Press: “We refuse to establish exit corridors from Gaza for Palestinians fleeing the Strip.”

He added: We are discussing with Israel and America the establishment of safe corridors inside Gaza and the entry of aid.

The siege continues

Since last Saturday, Israel has imposed a siege on the densely populated Gaza Strip, closing all crossings, preventing the entry of humanitarian aid and goods, and cutting off electricity and water.

The Israeli Prime Minister vowed to “wipe out the Hamas movement and uproot it from Gaza,” following the sudden attack it launched last Saturday.

While the death toll in the Gaza Strip rose to 1,200, and 5,600 wounded, amid a decrease in medicines and medical stocks in hospitals.

In contact with Al Arabiya/Al Hadath, Tamara Al-Rifai, a spokeswoman for the agency, stressed the necessity of enabling humanitarian organizations to enter the densely populated sector.
