Opel shows for the first time what the future electrified Opel Astra will look like
Opel has surprised us today with the first information and photos (renders) of what will be the future Opel Astra, one of the most iconic models within the brand and that will give way to its complete electrification to join the Opel Corsa-e and Opel Mokka-e.
Although Opel has not provided a complete photo (image) of the vehicle, it does show us details that make us glimpse what its design will be like, betting on a more pure, clean and futuristic design.
The Opel CEO Michael Lohscheller wants to highlight the following from the future Opel Astra:
“The future Astra will open an exciting new chapter in the 30-year history of our compact class model. We are confident that the next generation Opel Astra will make a great impression and attract many new customers to the brand. “
Exterior design It will be similar to the design already shown by the Opel Mokka, a characteristic face that integrates perfectly with the faros IntelliLux LED and that everything indicates that it will be the predominant and dominating design in future Opel vehicles.
Regarding the interior and as we can see in one of the photos, it will have a cabina digital Pure Panel next generation with fully glazed surfaces that are made up of a total of two horizontal panoramic screens that will provide all the necessary information to both the driver and the passengers.
Regarding the arrival of the new Opel Astra to the market, the German manufacturer belonging to the Stellantis Group has confirmed that the production of the new Astra will begin this year at its German plant in Rüsselsheim.
Although Opel has not confirmed a 100% electric version, it is expected that it will follow the strategy of the whole Stellantis group offering a purely electric option that will be complemented by the hybrid and pure gasoline versions. Probably its name maintains the tonic of the previous electrified models, that is, add an e at the end, Opel Astra-e.
Recall that a few days ago, Opel presented the Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD, a return to the mythical model but fully electrified and with a more current and modern design which the new Astra could be inspired by some design elements.
Finally, Opel urges us to be attentive in the next few dates as it will provide more information about the new Opel Astra.
