Emergency nurse Stef Vanlee — perhaps better known as an actor in ‘Thirties’ and ‘Familie’, among others — speaks out about the understaffing at the Plantijn retirement home in Kapellen. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, he arrived on site with his team for an intervention. “With our intern, there were three of us to help one person, which turned out to be more than the entire night shift of the nursing home for one hundred and twenty residents combined. Immense respect for that one nurse and one healthcare professional, but extremely disturbing.”
