The seasonal flu vaccination will take place in two phases this year. Risk groups and personnel from the health sector are given priority, only from November 15th the general public is eligible. This is reported by the Domus Medica GP association.

That decision was made in the context of the corona pandemic and the limited availability of the vaccines, it says. It is critical to vaccinate people at risk for complications as well as health workers as much as possible. After all, there is a chance that the flu season will coincide with a covid19 peak.
That is why a task force – including Domus Medica – has decided that the vaccination campaign will run in two phases. From September 15 to November 15, people at risk, people living under the same roof, healthcare workers and people over 50 years of age will be given priority. From November 15, the delivery of the vaccine can be extended to the rest of the population.
