In a virtual meeting with federal deputies, the official acknowledged that almost 2,000 academics and facilitators who serve 153,000 people who attend the program have not been paid.

For their part, members of the Education Commission asked SEP officials to clarify the reduction in the program budget and also demanded explanations for the lack of payment.

The deputy José Luis Montalvo (PT) regretted that neither the Secretary of Public Education (SEP) nor that of the Treasury have been able to solve the problem of the academics who in six months have not received their salary due to a cut.
