A traffic accident occurred on October 26 at approximately 14:00 on the 43rd kilometer of the Aktau-Zhanaozen highway.
Four brands of cars collided on the road: KamAZ, Volkswagen Sharan, Lada and GAZ 330253.
– In a road accident, a 49-year-old passenger in a Lada car died at the scene from his injuries. Four victims were taken to the regional hospital, the department’s press service explained.
The police noted that this fact was registered in the unified register of pre-trial investigations under Part 3 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. An investigation is underway. Other information is not disclosed in the interests of the investigation.
Article 345 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Violation of traffic rules or operation of vehicles by persons driving vehicles
1. Violation by a person driving a car, trolleybus, tram or other mechanical vehicle of the rules of the road or the operation of vehicles, resulting through negligence in causing moderate harm to human
health, is punishable by a fine in the amount of up to one hundred and sixty monthly calculation indices or correctional labor in the amount of the same amount, or by engaging in community service for a period of up to one hundred and sixty hours, or by arrest for a term of up to forty days, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to two years.
2. The same act, which through negligence entailed the infliction of grievous harm to human health, is punishable by a fine in the amount of up to two thousand monthly calculation indices, or correctional labor in the same amount, or involvement in public works for a term of up to six hundred hours, or restriction of freedom for a term up to two years, or imprisonment for the same period, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
3. An act provided for in the first part of this article, resulting in the death of a person through negligence, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of up to five years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to five years.
4. An act provided for in the first part of this article, resulting through negligence in the death of two or more persons, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to seven years.
