38-year-old biker lost his life on Saturday during a race at the Castellet circuit, say Var-Morning and Provence. The member of a group of four
bikers reportedly swerved, colliding with a second vehicle.
One of the men died instantly after striking the security barrier. The other was seriously injured: he was transported to Toulon hospital.
“We realize once again how cruel our sport can be,” comments Stéphane Clair, director of the Paul Ricard circuit. It was the first day of recovery after two months of confinement.
The Beausset gendarmes are responsible for the investigation of this accident.
